Toronto is known for its quality of life, job opportunities and diversity. This and comprehensive immigration system makes Toronto a desired destination for talent from around the world. Recent reports have suggested that thanks to its massive growth, favourable conditions for starting a company and a diverse talent pool, Toronto is catching up with Silicon Valley. Not only that, Toronto also became the fastest growing city in North America.
And yet this thriving city just received another positive news. Every two years, fDi Intelligence from the Financial Times publishes a study called Americas Cities of the Future. In this study, cities are rated according to foreign investment and future forecasts based on the trust of companies. And Toronto has just moved up by one position to second place, right behind New York City.
Another Canadian city, Montreal, also made the top 10, maintaining its strong fourth position. Ontario cities also registered huge success in the medium-sized cities category, with Mississauga and Hamilton leading the category in first and second place, respectively.
